Alex Xu has over 23 years of experiences in the gaming market. Alex has bachelor(1991-1996) and master(1996-1999) degrees from Tsinghua University, MBA degree from Hong Kong Chinese University(2005-2007). Formerly, he was president of gaming business at Qihoo360 (NYSE:QIHU)(2015-2017); SVP (2010-2013),CBO (2013 - 2015) at Perfect World (NASDAQ:PWRD) ,responsible for company strategy, new business development including social games, browser games, mobile games, console games, game media etc, in charge of global BD and M&A. Took part in deals include Cryptic Studio (Star-Trek OL, Never Winter OL),Runic Studio (Touch Light 12), Unknown Worlds (Natural Selection12, Subnautica),Double Damage Games (Rebel Galaxy),ArtCraft (CrowFall) etc.; Investment Director at Giant Interactive (NYSE:GA)(2008-2010); Manager at Electronic Arts(NASDAQ:EA)(2007), in charge of Asia outsourcing vendor management, serve for worldwide studios. Game Director for China at RealNetworks (NASDAQ:RNWK)(2005-2007), Manager of game department at Sohu(NASDAQ:SOHU)(2003-2005). Took part in acquisition of 17173.com, licensing "Blade OL", provided key efforts for setting up the core team which developed TLBB MMO and later spin off as Changyou (NASDAQ:CYOU). Now also holding a board of director role at SNK Japan (King of Fighters, Metal Slug ...). As one of the earliest person in China gaming industry, Alex Xu entered into gaming space since 1994. He led design and developed the first 3D engine and 3D game in China mainland “Eagle 81”in 1996. He set up one of the earliest independent game studio “Power Supply” in 1997 and a few more afterwards, until joining SOHU at 2003.
