In this talk I want to talk about my personal journey transitioning from the arts into game development over the last decade and finding myself in a economically benign environment. In order to survive, I included rather diverse approaches in my diet: art funding, innovation grants, investors, gigs with cultural institutions, research, etc. Diversifying and adapting to what was at offer is obviously not in line with the idea of breakthrough success, self exploitation until victory and whatever drives some of us these days. But it did work for me and I would like to share my strategies and resources.
